From Intelligent Identification to Intelligent Highways: Wizpro at Transport + Traffic Infratech Expo 2026
India's highways are entering a new phase of technological transformation. At Transport + Traffic Infratech Expo 2026, Wizpro brought together intelligent identification, advanced imaging and highway technology in a conversation that extended beyond products to the infrastructure challenges they are designed to address.

The future of highway infrastructure is not defined by the number of technologies deployed. It is defined by how effectively those technologies work together to improve identification, strengthen operational visibility, support safer roads and enable more informed decisions.
That distinction shaped Wizpro's participation in Transport + Traffic Infratech Expo 2026, held on 7–8 October at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
As the event's Lanyard Partner, Wizpro joined a gathering of technology providers, infrastructure professionals, policymakers and industry leaders exploring the evolving requirements of India's transportation ecosystem. At Wizpro's booth, the focus was on technologies and applications spanning RFID, intelligent tolling, video analytics, advanced imaging and connected highway infrastructure.
The two-day exhibition provided a valuable opportunity to demonstrate technology, exchange perspectives and engage with the people working to translate infrastructure requirements into practical solutions.
A platform for the next chapter of intelligent mobility
The 14th edition of Transport + Traffic Infratech Expo reflected the expanding scope of India's mobility landscape. Held alongside Road Infratech Expo and Parking Infratech Expo, and with the ITS India Congress taking place alongside the exhibition, the event brought together multiple dimensions of transportation, road infrastructure, traffic management and smart mobility.
The event reported participation from more than 300 brands across over 6,500 square metres of exhibition space.
The wider agenda encompassed Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Intelligent Traffic Management Systems (ITMS), AI-powered traffic solutions, barrier-free tolling, surveillance, road safety and integrated mobility. Discussions around connected, integrated and intelligent mobility also placed technology within the larger ambition of developing India's infrastructure under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

For companies operating at the intersection of identification, automation and infrastructure technology, this convergence is significant.
Highways do not operate as isolated systems. Vehicle identification, traffic monitoring, incident visibility and tolling infrastructure must function within broader operational environments. The ability to connect these functions is increasingly important when addressing the practical requirements of modern transport networks.
It was within this wider context that Wizpro presented its technology capabilities and engaged with the infrastructure community.
Wizpro as Lanyard Partner: Participating in the industry's progress
Wizpro's association with the exhibition extended beyond its role as an exhibitor. As the official Lanyard Partner, the company engaged with stakeholders across the transport and traffic infrastructure ecosystem.
At the exhibition, the Wizpro team connected with industry professionals and technology partners to discuss applications across highways, tolling and traffic management. These interactions reinforced the importance of understanding project requirements, system compatibility and integration to translate technology capabilities into practical solutions.
Bringing RFID and ANPR together for intelligent vehicle identification

One of the central technology highlights at the Wizpro booth was the integration of RFID-based identification with advanced imaging and AI-powered Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).
Wizpro showcased its Recon Global Shutter Camera alongside Zebra Technologies' FXR90 RFID reader, bringing two complementary vehicle-identification technologies into the same application context.
RFID: Electronic identification
Radio Frequency Identification enables the reading of RFID tags through radio-frequency technology. In highway applications, RFID infrastructure can support electronic vehicle identification, including in Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling environments.
For MLFF applications, overhead RFID infrastructure can identify the FASTag associated with a passing vehicle without requiring the conventional stop-and-pay interaction at a toll booth.
The antenna configuration and placement are important considerations. For example, a forward-directed 13 dBi antenna can establish a read zone ahead of a vehicle's approach to the gantry, supporting early tag identification as the vehicle moves towards the reading infrastructure.
ANPR: Visual identification
ANPR uses camera imagery and image-processing capabilities to recognise vehicle registration plates. It provides a visual identification layer that can complement RFID-based identification in suitable applications.
The Recon Global Shutter Camera showcased by Wizpro combines advanced imaging with AI-powered ANPR capabilities. Global Shutter technology is particularly relevant to applications involving moving vehicles, where image capture must account for motion.
Complementary technologies, broader application possibilities
RFID and ANPR serve different identification functions. When integrated appropriately, they can provide complementary identification inputs within a broader system.
This is relevant to MLFF tolling and other highway applications where electronic identification, visual verification and system-level integration may be required. The precise architecture depends on the project's specifications and the responsibilities of the wider system integrator.
The significance of the showcase was not simply the presence of two technologies at one booth. It was the opportunity to demonstrate how complementary identification capabilities can contribute to more comprehensive highway applications.
Beyond identification: The role of imaging and edge intelligence
Intelligent infrastructure also depends on the quality of information available to the systems operating it.
Advanced imaging, video analytics and edge computing can support different stages of the information chain, from image acquisition to local processing and the delivery of relevant outputs to wider systems.
Alongside RFID and ANPR, Wizpro's technology portfolio and exhibition communications highlighted Global Shutter imaging, Pulse IR and video analytics capabilities.
These technologies address different requirements. Global Shutter imaging supports image capture in applications involving movement. Pulse IR can support illumination for night-time imaging. Video analytics can help extract relevant information from video streams, while edge computing can enable processing closer to the point of data capture, depending on the implementation.
For highway and traffic applications, such capabilities can be relevant to vehicle identification, traffic observation and broader intelligent transportation deployments.
The wider objective is to ensure that individual technology components contribute effectively to the intended application. Camera performance, illumination, identification accuracy, installation conditions and integration requirements must all be considered within the overall system design.
This application-led approach is essential when moving from a product demonstration to deployment in real infrastructure environments.
Leadership and policy engagement: Connecting specifications with solutions at Transport + Traffic Infratech Expo 2026

Technology adoption is shaped not only by innovation but also by the standards, specifications and operational realities governing infrastructure projects.
Wizpro Director Kunal Jagtap represented the company at the expo's inaugural ceremony as a member of the panel, engaging with industry stakeholders around intelligent infrastructure and the evolving requirements of transportation systems.
Wizpro also welcomed Mr. Mahmood Ahmed, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, at its booth during the exhibition.
The interaction took place within an event bringing together stakeholders concerned with highway infrastructure, traffic management, tolling and intelligent mobility.
Another important engagement was the Road Infrastructure Round Table Meet, in which Kunal Jagtap participated alongside industry leaders, policymakers and technology professionals.
The discussion addressed government standards, project specifications, system integration, quality compliance and on-ground infrastructure challenges.
These subjects are fundamental to infrastructure delivery. A technology's capabilities must ultimately align with the specifications and operational requirements of the project in which it is deployed. Effective implementation depends on understanding not only what a technology can do, but also how it fits into the larger infrastructure environment.
Dialogue between technology providers, industry professionals and policymakers helps bring these considerations into sharper focus.
For Wizpro, participation in such discussions forms part of a wider engagement with the practical challenges of implementing intelligent infrastructure.
Signals of Change: Bringing road safety into the mobility conversation
Technology was not the only important story emerging from Wizpro's participation.
During the exhibition, Tushar Ranjan, Chief Growth Officer at Wizpro Consultech, unveiled his book, Signals of Change.

The book explores the changing landscape of intelligent transportation, the role of artificial intelligence in traffic management and enforcement, and the shared responsibility involved in building safer roads.
Its central themes extend the conversation beyond the introduction of new technology. Intelligent mobility also raises questions about accountability, awareness, enforcement and the decisions that influence road safety.
This perspective is important because technological advancement and safer mobility are related, but they are not interchangeable. Better tools can support better decisions and operations; meaningful outcomes also depend on how those tools are implemented and used.
The book's unveiling added a wider human dimension to the discussions taking place at the expo: the need to evaluate mobility not only by how efficiently people and goods move, but also by how safely they reach their destinations.
It reinforced a broader principle relevant to intelligent transportation: technology delivers its greatest value when it serves a clearly defined operational and societal purpose.
From exhibition conversations to real-world applications
Across the two days, Wizpro's participation centred on technology demonstrations, industry engagement and discussions about the evolving needs of India's highway and transportation infrastructure.
The company's work across RFID, ANPR, MLFF-related applications, video analytics and intelligent infrastructure reflects a focus on the identification and automation capabilities that underpin many modern transportation systems.
Yet the real measure of these capabilities lies beyond the exhibition floor.
An RFID reader must be suited to its intended reading environment. An imaging system must meet the requirements of the application. Identification technologies must fit the overall system architecture, and the resulting information must be made available to the appropriate systems and stakeholders.
These considerations are particularly important in infrastructure projects, where technology components often operate as part of a wider implementation involving multiple stakeholders.
Wizpro's engagement with technology partners, infrastructure professionals and industry leaders at the expo provided a setting for these conversations.
The exhibition also reinforced the value of collaboration. Technology manufacturers, solution providers, system integrators, project stakeholders and policymakers each contribute different expertise to infrastructure delivery. Aligning those perspectives is an important step towards practical, scalable implementations.
Building the next generation of intelligent highways

India's transport infrastructure will continue to evolve as requirements around mobility, tolling, road safety and traffic management become more interconnected.
The challenge is not simply to introduce more technology. It is to select, integrate and implement the right capabilities for the conditions and objectives of each project.
RFID can support electronic vehicle identification. ANPR can provide visual identification. Advanced imaging, video analytics and edge computing can contribute to different stages of information capture and processing. Intelligent transportation systems bring these and other capabilities into broader operational contexts.
When appropriately designed and integrated, these technologies can contribute to more connected infrastructure and better-informed operations.
Transport + Traffic Infratech Expo 2026 provided Wizpro with an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities, strengthen industry connections and participate in discussions about these evolving requirements.
As the exhibition concluded, the conversations around integration, implementation and infrastructure needs remained relevant beyond the event itself.
For Wizpro, the focus continues to be on connecting technology with practical applications across highways, tolling and intelligent infrastructure.
Because the next chapter of highway infrastructure will not be shaped by technology alone, but by how effectively it is brought together to solve real-world challenges.
